The History of Iced Coffee
There aren’t many records about the history of iced coffee and where it began, but the most trustful first records point to Algeria, circa 1840. According to Wikipedia, the cold, sweetened coffee drink was called Mazagran, prepared with coffee syrup and cold water.

Ingredients

Leave the ice cream to sit out of the freezer for a short period, depending on the ice cream brand and room temperature. Then, use it before it begins to melt.
Add one or two scoops of the vanilla ice cream into a cup and pour the hot coffee on top of it, covering the whole scoop.

Prepare a sugar syrup bringing a small pot of water to boil and add the sugar. The ratio is one part of water for one of sugar. Stir until the sugar melts and mix with the water creating a syrup.
Pour the cold coffee brew into a cup and add some freshly squeezed lemon juice. You can add more or less fluid to suit your palate.
Add two tablespoons of the sugar syrup and mix them well.

1 1/2 cups water
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup toasted shredded coconut

Coconut Syrup:
Put water and sugar into a saucepan at medium heat, stir it until sugar is dissolved and turned into a syrup, then add the toasted coconut flakes and mix them well.
Allow it to rest for about 5 minutes, then use a shiv to remove the coconut flakes from the syrup.
The drink:
Using a cocktail shaker, mix the syrup, the coffee and ice.
